About Shaun

At my core, I am a passionate, lifelong golfer. I have been as long as I can remember, and will continue to be as far as I know. My perfect day includes golf, and my most profound feelings of happiness often come through golfing with others. Golf has helped to define me, and I feel purpose and fulfillment when assisting others to discover the beauty of this game.

Although I've been teaching golf to many people for many years, my first formal experience of coaching was with the Monarch High School men's and women's golf teams for three competitive seasons.

Besides being a passionate and competitive golfer for most of my life, I also have several years of formal experience coaching both men's and women's high school golf. I've also instructed dozens of golfers over the years, ranging from beginners to more experienced golfers.

Firstly, it's important to keep in mind that golf is a sport that demands ongoing learning, adjustment, and experimentation for improvement. And a ton of patience. Golf is not a sport where you react to a moving ball. Further, nothing happens until you're ready to make it happen. That's why preparation, fundamentals, and focus are crucial. When working with golfers of any level, I engage them exactly where they are with their game. Because odds are that there are a lot of good things already happening that should be identified and built into routine. Amazing things can happen when combining solid fundamentals with the confidence of knowing one's ability.

All ages. At all different levels of experience.

Above all else, a student should feel comfortable with their teacher, and there should be a good rapport. Because let's face it, a student most likely won't learn from someone they don't feel comfortable with. Then comes the expertise in the game of golf, which is something that I can certainly offer.

I have been a single handicap golfer for several seasons, but have only recently began posting some of the best scores of my life. I currently have a handicap index of 0.9 and have come close to winning amateur events in Colorado.

Although I don't have a standard pricing system for my lessons, I think anywhere from $20-25 per hour is reasonable.
