About Helen

Welcome to St. Louis Golf Academy! No matter what your age or skill level, we are here to help you improve and learn more about this game of a lifetime. Private coaching is available for all ages and skill levels and is by appointment only. Coaching sessions can cover any aspect of the game.

I was working in the golf industry and started teaching part-time.  My lesson schedule booked up very rapidly and I was able to teach full-time.  Year after year I continued to get referrals from my clients who were very happy with the results they were getting and today I coach thousands of golfers each season.

My certifications are as follows:

PGA and LPGA member

23 years of full-time teaching experience

TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) Certified Golf Insturctor, Level 3

TPI Certified Junior Coach, Level 3

U.S. Kids Certified Golf Instructor

GolfPsych Instructor

We first talk about your goals for the next 3-6 months and then we talk about your expectations for the lesson.  I will also ask questions about your physical health and do a brief screening to assess your current range of motion in specific joints and muscle groups.  That will give me more ways that I can help you build the swing motion that will be the best fit for you.  After watching you hit several shots and with the use of video analysis we will begin making necessary changes to help you improve.

I have worked with complete beginners to professional golfers and everyone in between.  My youngest student is 4 and my oldest student 89.

Find a teacher who has the credentials of either the PGA or LPGA not just someone who says they teach golf.  There is a big difference.  Also, look for someone who has at least 5 years of experience.

I recently did a clinic for a group of young, professional women who wanted to learn golf for their own enjoyment and for use in the business community.  It was a lot of fun introducing them to the game.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Ask yourself, "What do I want to accomplish in next 6 months and what do I want to accomplish in the next 3 years?"  Think about what your current strengths are and what areas need improvement.  If you currently keep statistics on your rounds, that would be helpful to look at and discuss with your teacher.
