About
I'm one of the Baby Boomers who was swept up in the Beatlemania of the 1960s. Taught myself to play our of a Beatles songbook, but more importantly, I learned songwriting from them too. I had a few piano lessons, enough to give me music theory grounding, and I played Trombone in my school band for 8 years, which was a great education in bass-clef music and counterpoint. I have many songs under copyright (starting about 1973) and am registered with BMI for the day (I hope comes soon) when the royalties start pouring in. Meanwhile, I have a good PC Windows based recording setup in my home and can multi-track my harmonies and instruments. I love Americana Music with my tastes reaching back through the early 20th century to Tin Pan Alley, Broadway and Movie Musicals, Jazz, Folk, Rock, Gospel as well as R&B. Music is my love and my life.
I have quick-start methods to get you playing quickly and methods to teach you to play by ear the songs you hear and want to learn. I tailor your lessons to you -- advance as quickly as you want, or take your time and enjoy the process.
I prefer to work with adults who decide to learn guitar later in life but will also work with people younger on a case-by-case basis.
