Kayla joins our team, bringing 15 plus years of coaching and program leadership experience to the mat. She was born and raised in Saint Louis in a family of 5. Her first experience in the gym occurred when she was 2 and it has been her favorite athletic activity since. She quickly was picked to be on the gym’s competitive Gymnastics team and continued to shine there until she was recruited to be on the area’s premiere All Star Competitive Cheerleading team. While in that program, she competed in individual, group, and team activities. In 1999, she was a flyer on the first team in St. Louis to win a National Championship. From that point, she was part of 75 National Championship programs, sometimes competing on 4 different teams in a competition, along with individuals. Her gym, which was family owned, went on to be
ranked as one of the top 10 programs in the country. In 2008, Kayla joined Team Central Gymnastics Academy as a coach and quickly rose to become Director of Progressive Gymnastics and Cheerleading. Her teams continued Team Central’s legacy of excellence and her programs brought a smile to many a youngster’s face. She then was recruited to the corporate world where she ran a district office and the district training program, and then became a Business Consultant. She realized her true passion was coaching gymnastics and cheerleading and watching the joy it brings to a child’s life. Kayla has a son named Jonah and we are beginning to find him on the mat. Outside of the gym, she enjoys rummaging around nature, spontaneous adventure and she has a side gig “upcycling” venture.
