About Kaylee
Every student is uniquely different. I grew up understanding concepts and subjects differently than others. I want to provide help to students so they too can use their brain in a way that makes sense to them. I have worked with a broad range of students from dyslexic sisters to nonverbal special education. I graduated from Massachusetts Maritime Academy with a degree in International Maritime Business and I enjoy helping students understand their work.
I enjoy watching students begin to grasp a concept and helping those we need that extra time. Learning isn't easy and I enjoy helping others all together but knowing someone isn't struggling in a subject makes it all worth it.
I have worked with many students on subjects ranging from elementary to college level. In high school I tutored students as well as helping anyone I could with subjects we were all learning.

I think it is important to start by having the student show you how their mind processes the information. What they don't understand about the topic, what they do understand about the topic and how they were taught to understand the topic. Once I have figured that out it allows me to see where to begin. I will also try to make sure they are comfortable with the foundation of the topic before moving into the complex aspects at hand.
I emphasize the importance of finding a teacher/tutor that understands how your mind works. In school there is a specific way to learn, but with one on one lessons you need to be able to work comfortably and freely with your tutor.
