About Cheryl
Cheryl Dungan Cunningham has been teaching harp students of all ages, interests, and skills to play the harp since 1980. She works with students as young as age 6, to adults with no musical experience, to advanced students of any age. Using either folk or pedal harp, students may tailor their instruction to folk, classical or popular music. Between her formal education as a harpist and her extensive and varied performance experience playing in classical settings as a soloist, chamber or orchestral musician; nightly in restaurants such as the Country Veranda, William Penn Inn, or La Petite Roche; or in an informal settings at hundreds of wedding ceremonies, parties and other special events she has a wealth of knowledge to share with her students.

Cheryl is both kind and thorough in her approach to teaching the harp. She offers a relaxed atmosphere in her home studio where she pinpoints and works to solve my specific needs or weaknesses in technique and interpretation of the literature.
Cheryl has been an amazing harp teacher for my daughter Abigail. Abigail has been studying with her for 2.5 years. Cheryl is very patient and kind. She stresses mastering a skill well and then moving on. She explains things well so that an 11 year old can master it; however, she doesn't baby her. Cheryl's skills as a teacher and harpist make lessons enjoyable for Abigail. I consider myself very fortunate to have such a master harpist teaching my daughter.
