About Dan
With over a decade of classroom experience in a number of primary schools, as a Curriculum Lead, Writing Lead, Phonics Lead and Key Stage Lead (to name a few!) I provide personalised one-to-one tuition that puts children at the heart of learning.
Every learner is different. Some need support to catch up, others need greater challenge, while many simply need someone who explains things in a way that finally makes sense. I meet each learner where they are. Not by age or year group, but by their current stage of learning.
Alongside academic progress, I focus on confidence, resilience and helping children rediscover enjoyment in learning. I believe children learn best when they feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes and celebrate their successes.
I work with children in school, home-educated learners, those returning to education and those who benefit from a more personalised approach.
My lessons are calm, supportive and carefully tailored to each individual.

No two lessons look exactly the same because no two learners are the same.
I begin by understanding each learner's strengths, interests and areas where they need support.
From there, I create engaging lessons that balance clear explanations with practical activities, discussion and independent thinking.
I plan all lessons to be themed around interest-led topics.
Rather than simply preparing learners for the next test, I aim to develop lasting understanding and independent learning skills that continue beyond our sessions together.
