About Sally
My name is Sally Tyrell, and I have a bachelors degree in Elementary and Middle Level education and a masters degree in environmental science. I am certified to teach Elementary Education and Middle Level English, Social Studies, and Science. I have 4 years of teaching experience in a formal classroom setting where I taught 4th (1 year), 7th (1 year), and 8th (2 years) grade. I aLos have 2 years of more informal teaching experience with pre k through 8th as an Outreach Educator through the Creative Discovery Museum and as a Naturalist at Reflection Riding Arboretum & Nature Center. I wrote the first formal field trip curriculum for Reflection Riding as well!
I have a positive personality and a love for learning! My goal as an educator is to foster a safe and meaningful learning community and encourage students to have a growth mindset. Every student learns differently, so I love to help them learn the way that suits them best.

Perfect! We hired Sally to tutor our 7 yr old who was struggling with her reading. Sally very quickly built a rapport and made our daughter extremely comfortable with her in a very short period of time.
