About Mary
I have spent the last 22 years in the classroom, with the majority of that time in Special Education. I have a bachelor's in elementary education k-8, a master's in mild/moderate disabilities k-12, and a master's in library science. I am highly qualified in math, science, reading, and English. I have taught English and reading exclusively for 18 years. I specialize in students with Autism and ADHD. I have attended many professional develops that cover best teaching practices as well as how their brains process information. I have over 50 hours of clinical training and RBT training for ASD. I have written 3+ research papers on teaching students with ADHD during my master's program.
Not only do I have decades of experience with students that have ASD and ADHD, but I also have two grandchildren with ASD and two children and my husband that suffer from ADHD. I understand on a teacher level, but I understand on a parental level as well. I understand the frustrations, the tears, and the endless meetings of what your child can't do. I also understand and celebrate the accomplishments with you and your child no matter how big or small.
