About Shannon
I am a licensed elementary educator in the states of NJ and SC. Currently becomming PA licensed.
I started by substitute teaching all grades. I learned that I preferred elementary age students. I enrolled in a post-grad program to become a licensed teacher. I completedthe teacher prep program, clinical hours, and a licensing exam. I am licensed in NJ and SC. Soon to be licensed in PA.
I have been educating elementary students in American classrooms since 2014 and recently, I returned from teaching oral English in China!

I will get to know the student as a person before I begin the academic work. I believe that gaining the trust from a student is paramount. After a rapport is built, I ask the students what are things that they are confident about. I will have them list their strengths and make sure they are able to provide me with some positivity about themselves. Next, I will inquire about things that they want help with.
