About Raymond
I have always had an incredible passion for math and people, and tutoring is the intersection of those two. I love meeting new students and helping them engage in my favorite subject.
It is a wonderfully fullfulling experience when parents send me pictures of their student's improved report card. Additionally, I believe the education system's way of teaching math isn't nearly as intuitive as it should be (though there are some good teachers), and I love helping students see the beauty in math that most schools often fail to communicate.
I've been volunteer tutoring at my high school for about two years and I volunteer tutor in the community as well. I figured that since I have a talent in test taking, I should share it with others.
I have been training for the SAT and ACT for almost four years now, and I have impressive scores to back up my experience.

Be kind, encouraging, and engaging. An important thing to do when working with new students is to begin by learning about their test taking styles, and making sure they optimize their test taking strategies before actually getting into their weak spots and strengthening those. The benefits that come with the strongest test taking strategies are often very intuitive to understand as well, so it's a nice way to begin a tutoring session.
All kinds, and am willing to work with all kinds.
I don't mean say this in a condescending manner, but I would not reccomend settling with tutors who are not masters of their material. An ability to teach and relay information to others is certainly important, but they cannot do this if they do not have all the knowledge in the first place. That is why I am a very safe and economical option; my scores are all 99% and I will do a free session so that you will be comfortable and know you are getting your money's worth.
I'm fond of the change Collegeboard made to put the SAT back on the 1600 scale; it gives math a greater weight over the score, and I believe math is much easier to master for students than english.

Details
I understand going with a cheaper, less established tutor rather than one from a major tutoring company seems risky, so I offer my first hour-long tutoring session completely free.
After that, I will do continued sessions for $10 dollars an hour.
