About Laurie
At Giggle Learn Tutoring, we work with students from Pre-K to 8th grade in a one-on-one situation. We first assess each student to determine the academic needs, and we then develop an individualized program based on those needs. We are very familiar with the programs taught in neighboring schools, and we communicate with the classroom teachers to provide a well-rounded academic program.
We are passionate about teaching and about making a difference in children’s lives. We make learning fun!
Laurie Chesney, owner of Giggle Learn Tutoring, has been teaching for 25 years across all grades in Elementary and Middle School.
She has experience working with students with a variety of academic needs, from struggling kiddos to gifted ones. She loves connecting with each child and developing his/her confidence and academic skills in Math, Reading, and Writing. The other staff member(s) at Giggle Learn bring the same level of professionalism, and together we make a great team!
I’ve been a teacher in some capacity for most of my life. From Girl Scout leader to camp counselor to classroom teacher, my entire life has been devoted to working with and teaching children. I opened Giggle Learn Tutoring in 2003 to better serve the individual needs of students in the area.
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from attentive University in Canada, and I have a Bachelor if Education from queen’s University in Canada. I have several specialist certificates for Primary, Junior, and Intermediate education.

We first assess each student to determine his/her academic needs. From there, we develop an individualized program based on the academic needs and goals. We then see students weekly (once or twice a week) for one-hour, one-on-one sessions.
I have worked with students from Pre-K to 8th grades. I have had the privilege of working with students with a wide-range of academic, social, and emotional needs.
I would highly suggest you speak with the teacher to ensure that he/she would be a good fit. Some teachers work with students in small groups, while others work one-on-one. The level of support differs significantly between the two, but a good teacher/tutor should be able to help you decide what would be best for you. Also, I would ask about his/her teaching experience and what programs they use.
