About Lydia Hermosilla
I am a classically trained musician. I still teach to private oboe students, but I was injured and was unable to play due to my injury. I always wanted to try painting and found that I was actually pretty good. I've been painting in acrylics and watercolor and some mixed media and have done some demonstration work in small settings. I have had my work shown both locally and across the country. I am a member of the VAE and NCWCS and also participate in shows in both of their organizations.
I enjoy sharing the arts with everyone. I feel that painting is more than just pretty pictures, it's a way of expressing yourself. A lot of real work can be done through the arts.
I have taught music since high school, and gave lessons to beginner students.

I have worked with students at all levels from beginners to advanced college music majors.
Recently heard a group called "Post Modern JukeBox" They take current pop songs and play them as though they were written in the jazz age of the 30's. They are pretty awesome. A whole new spin.
