About Lisa
I love being able to help students achieve their goals and exceed in their classes. My passion was founded when my own children, now grown were struggling to learn and we as parents had a difficult time finding assistance for them. I became a paraprofessional about twelve years ago and began working as a computer teacher and later as a bilingual assistant after I mastered the Spanish language, which I use daily in my personal life.
I got started when my children were small and I needed work hours that somewhat coincided with their school hours.
I have worked with English language learners for approximately 7 years. My own children are bilingual and I am as well. I speak as much Spanish as I do English, but since Spanish is my second language, I have a understanding of how children sometimes need to learn it in order to understand and retain it.

I like to get to know a student by finding out their strengths, areas of weakness and what specific areas they're struggling in, and them we will go from there and derive a plan as to how we're going to "tackle" what needs to happen to get them where they need to be so that they retain the information.
I have mostly worked with special needs students and English as a second language students.
