About Nick
I love seeing people create beautiful imagery. I love talking about photography and lighting, and I love that moment when someone who is learning makes the connection that leads to better work. I've taught photography for about 10 years throughout Southern California at LA Harbor College, and at the California Center for Digital Arts. I specialize in helping students achieve the lighting results they want, and assisting beginning photographers in navigating how to set up their shoots.
I had a group of friends while I was working at Sony Pictures who asked me to teach them about photography at lunch. I had so much fun I decided to expand to folks outside that circle, and began teaching workshops.
I'm a graduate of the USC School of Cinema-TV, and have been working professionally in video and still photography for about 15 years. I have had work on a billboard in Times Square, have been published in a number of magazines including Adon, and have directed broadcast car commercials.

I like to hear from students what their short-term and long-term goals are, and any obstacles that are standing in the way of those goals. Based on that, we can figure out if we're a good match to work together.
Look for someone whose work you enjoy. If you think to yourself, "I wonder how they did that," they probably have something you can learn from them.
