About Jim
Seeing the excitment of someone looking at their first "real" photo tht they made is like no other. I love bringing someone from barely knowing how to hold a camera to making photos they are proud of.
I have been shooting for over 30 years and have lots of little tips that don't see being passed along to beginers. I mainly shoot landscapes and sports but have shot everything from advertising to weddings.

Look and, if you see what you want to learn, I am your guy. You are never too old or young to learn something. I learn new things all of the time.
I use Lightroom, photoshop, and other software for developing my photos from the raw images I capture.
Over the years, I have been asked to teach people how to use their cameras. I love working with new people and showing htem how to get their vision out to a photo they are proud to display.
I got a Brownie camera when iwas a child and spent hours and hours learning how to get the results I wanted from the film I was shooting. Then I took photojournalism when I was in high school and shot sports at that time.
I have been shooting ever since then in one meduim or another. The last 20 years I have been shooting high school sports in Paulding County Ohio.

I like to chat with a new student about their likes and dislikes. Getting to know someone will go a long ways to knowing what they want to learn and where they are at in their life. Everyone has their own style of learning and expectations. If I don't think I can take them along their path, I am wasting both of our time.
Usually beginers are the people I have worked with. I have mentored several budding sports photographers
Be aware of photos you like and what you want out of your lessons.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Look at photos you like and try to visualize how you want to make your creation look. After all, you don't want to be a copy of someone else.

Details
I like to keep things simple and teach by the hour. I charge a flat intial fee that covers time getting to know the student. It is typically half the rate for lessons.
