About Carmine
After 25 years as a commercial photographer I was approached to teach an adult education course. That proved so rewarding I was again approached to teach at the college level which I've been doing now for 16 years. I love the work I do and strive to communicate as clearly as possible photographic craft and how those components are merged with one's desire for artistic expression bringing it all together as art.

Working with people whose desire to learn is a pleasure. Seeing that look of enlightenment is my reward. My challenge is to listen to the student, be as clear as possible and keep it simple. Then to move on, building upon what the student has learned and their interest. After completing my BFA at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago I worked as an instructor in Theatre Arts at Mt.Holyoke College for three years. During that time my interest in photography became an all consuming passion. I switched careers and worked my way up to owning my own production studio applying my technical theatre knowledge to build and photograph commercial advertising materials for major corporations and advertising agencies in San Francisco and the New York area.
