About Rachel
In addition to being a certified teacher, I am an award-winning professional writer/ editor. My work has been featured in over 40 publications. As far as teaching and tutoring, I have worked with all ages, especially students in middle and high school. I specialize in American History, English grammar and literature. I love Shakespeare and Dickens! I have worked with many students preparing for the ACT and SAT as well. I am sought out for my skills in writing engaging essays.
As a writer, I love meeting new people, finding out about their lives and sharing it with the world. As a teacher, I love when students' faces 'light up' when they finally get it! I enjoy relating to their experiences and sharing my own to establish a connection, to help them with their learning.
I studied at University of Colorado in Boulder. I worked at Uni Hill Elementary and Baseline Jr. High. Then, I went on to tutor at Huntington Learning Center. In addition, I worked with a talent management company called ESI KIDZ in Los Angeles.
Bachelor's degree with a major in History, and an Education degree.

I am actually new to the online venture. I used to tutor one on one, but with COVID-19, this is the safer option. I usually help students with their homework, but used to be able to give them established skills practice when I worked for Huntington Learning Center as a tutor.
All ages. But I think I work best with middle and high school students.
