I would make a form filled with questions in order to get a feeling of the new student. I believe that students should have personalized study habits as well as learning.
I actually haven't worked with other students, only friends and groupmates during school.
I would look into how they communicate to you as well as how wide their material is. Learning a topic is not just about memorizing notes, it's about other things such as having opinions and other study habits.
A recent event I am fond of would have to be stepping onto a university. As a first-generation Latino student, it was so emotional and very inspiring to me.
