About William
Hi, my name is Liam and I'm from Carrboro, NC. My tutoring services include SAT and ACT math, as well as SAT subject tests in Math/Physics, AP Calc AB/BC, AP Physics C, or more advanced math subjects such as multivariable calc and linear algebra. As for credentials, I just graduated from MIT with a BS in mathematics and a 5.0/5.0 GPA. I'll be starting a master's in math at Oxford University in the fall. This summer I'm working for a startup in Tokyo so sessions will have to be on Zoom unless you live in Japan.
Since my time as a peer tutor in high school, I've really enjoyed teaching math. My favorite thing about math is that there are often many methods to get to the right answer and every method reveals a different facet of the problem. I love finding the most elegant and efficient route to solving problems and sharing them with others.
I began as a peer tutor for algebra and pre-calculus as a junior in high school, and continued as a TA for calculus, multivariable, and real analysis in college

I like to go by the book for SAT and ACT math tutoring, since I believe that seeing past problems is the most effective way to prepare for future tests. The same process is used at the highest level for college math competitions such as the Putnam Contest
