About Maili
I am Biology major and science communication minor at the Clark Honors College at the University of Oregon. I am passionate about sharing the skills to effectively communicate, especially in the science field. My areas of expertise include English, Biology, and Algebra. I'd love to help with conceptual questions, essay writing and editing, and SAT prep. I want to help students maximize their success on the SAT by sharing a personalized approach that led me to a 1500+ SAT score.
I love being able to connect with high schoolers and hear what they are passionate about!
I have worked as an in-school mentor at local high schoolers, serving as a resource for post-high school planning, college applications, essay writing, SAT prep and more!
I am a Biology and Science communication student in the honors college. I have experience with high-level science concepts with an emphasis on how to best relay this information! I want science learning to be fun and engaging for all.
I am also well-versed with SAT content and feel confident with each section. I'd love to pass down the tips I used to get a 1550 on my test!

I take an individualized approach with each student. I'd love to know your areas of interests, strengths, and what you want help with.
I've worked with students from a variety of backgrounds. I especially appreciate the opportunity to interact with students from underrepresented backgrounds who many be first-generation or not be familiar with the college application process. I also love working with female-identifying students who are interested in the STEM field!
Look for a teacher who knows how to explain concepts in ways you understand. I was taking the SAT not all that long ago, and remember the nerves and common pitfalls. A big part of learning is understanding how you best learn, and I can share the strategies and tips that have best worked for me as a successful current student.
Over this summer, I worked with a program that hosted a free summer camp to high schoolers to give them a taste of the college experience. It took place on my college campus, and students were able to pick a program of their choice, from Physics to Journalism to Marketing. I loved the opportunity to connect with students during our evening events--we had a karaokee night, a networking night, and played lots of giant Connect Four!
