About Julie
I have had over 28 years sewing/beading and more than 15 years of experience teaching students to find their creative side. I have taught camp and after-school classs, with ages 5-12, and I have taught a sewing camp for ages 11-14. I have been teaching beadweaving classes since 2004 and have opened up my home studio to teach young and old my love of both sewing and beading. I currently am a miniature bead designer and run my Etsy store JulRiDesign, selling tutorials. I also teach beading classes to seniors in an independent living community. I have been published more than 20 times in various beading magazines, including Bead & Button and Beadwork.
Having grown up in an artistic household, I have always been passionate about creating things with my hands. Starting with my dollhouse as a child and finding true love with sewing and beading. I love being able to create whatever you need using the materials that speak to you and making it custom fit for you! Helping others find that passion keeps me going and brings me joy.

I try to assess their current knowledge and start at that point. I give them pointers and tips along the way and I show patience with every step. I always stop to make sure they understand what I am saying and will go over anything they have trouble learning.

She is a great teacher. She is easy to talk to and is very knowledgeable about sewing and crafting. She makes things easy to understand . I would grade her a 10/10 and would recommend her any day. She also makes it fun .
Julie is a fantastic teacher! I immediately felt comfortable and like family in her presence. She is thorough with her lessons and very experienced, she is also open to any questions. She is very patient and helped guide me through my project without taking over. I left feeling very accomplished and now I have the skills to practice on my own.
