About Wendy
I teach voice privately by appointment in my studio on the north side of Chicago, as well as performance coaching, and speaking voice training. Periodic workshops are offered and I host a regular Singer’s Salon, an opportunity to perform for a supportive audience of like minded folks. I am fascinated by the technical and artistic/emotional aspects of singing and how they intract. My technique will help you release unwanted habits, chronic tensions, and facilate expressing the emotional life and text of the song. My approach is to get you singing, auditioning and performing at your best!
I am classically trained, but use modern techniques that are suited to contemporary music of all kinds, from rock ‘n roll to musical theater, jazz, blues, soul, country and more. As a songwriter myself, I frequently coaches singer/songwriters not only on singing technique but ways to perform their songs more effectively. Wendy’s whole Body/Voice approach includes Somatic VoiceworkTM The Lovetri Method, Linklater and Alexander Techniques, among others.
I am most excited when I can help students become the best singer/performer they can be, when they are able to truly connect to text and music, with vocal freedom and ease. It is glorious to see students gain access to their individual voice, to their unique style and sound, and means of expression.

Details
$70 per hour for lessons. I also offer 45 minute lessons for $53, or for younger students a 30 minute lesson is sometimes advisable. I am also available for online lessons.
