About Justine
My goal is to provide voice lessons to students in a way that is fun, engaging, and safe with proper techniques! I teach children and adults. I can work with special needs! I have had experience teaching special needs arts at a youth summer camp for special needs. I have been in the music business for many years.
I studied opera for a year at Santa Fe University of Art and Design and then I independently studied musical theater. In my musical theater training I was taught by an original cast member of Phantom of the Opera. I perform in a rock theater act and have been a working performer in the music industry. I can coach my students about the business and consult with them about their performing goals!
PANDEMIC UPDATE: Due to the pandemic I am only doing voice lessons by FaceTime, Zoom and Skype!
I love how fufilling it is. I love helping others and I love teaching. I love seeing smiles on my students faces when they sing something they thought they couldn't sing in a safe way. I think overall my students have taught me more than I have taught them. They have taught me to be patient, open minded, compassionate, and understanding.

My goal is to bring out the best in all my students. I believe the most successful lessons are when my students are engaged in the material. In the first initial lesson, I would like to spend time getting to know my student, their vocal goals, and songs they would like to learn. I will use vocal warm up excersises to determine the voice range of the student. This is important because the way the student's voice falls determines what would be appropriate song choices and keys to sing in. I believe a student can learn any song, but it's about adjusting the song so they sing it well. I am very strict about warm up excersises because it is important for voice health and safety. We will always spend 15 mintues before we sing to warm up. During the lesson I will always require that students have a room temperature glass of water present for them to drink. The more hydrated the singer, the easier it is to sing! I will also be providing parents a list of teas and throat sprays to promote voice health.

Details
I charge $50 per half hour and $75 per hour. I can also book lessons for more than an hour. I do price breaks as the hours increase.
