About Grace
I received a perfect score (5) on both the AP English Language and Composition Exam and the AP English Literature and Composition Exam. I also earned a perfect score (36) in the English section of the ACT, and a 33 overall. I have completed all entry level requirements for college English courses, and my work has been admitted to national writing contests. I would be able to assist with grammar, spelling, syntax, rhetoric, vocabulary, analysis, creative writing, editing, and proofreading, and I am comfortable and familiar with online courses, as well as traditional education settings.
I have had an affinity for writing and language since I was young, and I am always delighted to explore it. Whether reading, writing, or continuing my own education, I am fascinated by the written word and I would be thrilled to share this passion with others. I believe that the ability to express oneself with clarity, confidence, and accuracy is imperative to communicating successfully in any setting, but particularly as an advancing student and modern professional. Beyond assisting peers and providing informal tutoring services, I do not have extensive experience in tutoring in this specific area. However, I have worked as a teacher and teacher's assistant in other areas and am able to provide a patient and encouraging, yet appropriately challenging approach. I first become acquainted with the new student, and endeavor to assess his/her personality and learning style. Then, I inquire about particular challenges and the areas that are most difficult for the student. Next, I help to identify the student's goals, and what the desired outcome would be at the end of the tutoring process. From here, I work with student to establish a learning plan that is most suited to their specific needs.
I think it is very important to find a teacher/tutor that one enjoys working with, and with whom one can have an amicable relationship. It is very challenging to learn (and teach) under circumstances where one feels frustrated, disrespected, or misunderstood. I highly recommend that a student select a teacher with a personality and teaching style that directly complements their own personality and learning style.

My hourly rate begins at the state minimum wage ($12/hour.) However, this is negotiable based on time and extent of tutoring partnership. Tips to cover travel expenses and materials are optional but sincerely appreciated.
