About Monika
Hi everyone! My name is Monika, and I would love to put my wide range of skills to use in order to help others (for an affortable and fair rate)! I don't have any formal training as a tutor or education professional, but I do have a Bachelors degree in Sociology/Anthropology from FIU, coupled with a large array of useful skills that I can share with others if and when they need a little extra push or help. From beginner English and Spanish, to Anthropology/history tutoring, I'm here to help!
I have life long experience with communication skills, in both English and Spanish; I also have almost life long interest and experience with history, anthropology, woodworking, and video games (though I can't really tutor in video games)! Helping and educating others is intrinsically in my nature, and I hope to use that passion now to help others, as well as my own personal growth.
I have always loved educating and entertaining others, especially with subjects or topics that I have a tangible interest in. I don't have any official training as a tutor or educator, but I have taught friends and family members about a whole plethora of subjects and I've found it fulfilling and fun!
I have a Bachelor's degree in Sociology/Anthropology from FIU (graduated 2020 with Cum Laude honors). I also have certifications in food safety and NCCER (not really relevant to tutoring but still certifications I have). In terms of tutoring, I don't have formal experience or training, but I have exceptional communication skills, and I have a keen eye for potential and talent in others.

I haven't formally, officially worked with any student yet, but my approach to eduacting anyone (mostly friends and family until now) is to first establish good rapport with the person. This is a great way to determine which aspect of the task at hand is the one the person needs a little extra help, and which parts of it they are confident in. Then we can begin knowing exactly where to start!
I've had the privilege of working with tantilizingly interesting people throughout my life; all of whom have been wonderfully diverse in ages, backgrounds, and cultures. Although I have never practiced with them or instructed them in the capacity of a tutor, I can accurately say that I know I made an impact (even if miniscule in comparison to other educators in their lives), as most of them have at one point or another brought up something I've told them about before.

Details
As most of us are struggling financially, I have no intention of having ludicrous pricing for my services offered. I intend on pricing my services fairly for both parties; it will be priced based on time spent and subject being tutored. For example, if I'm tutoring a young child in a basic concept or language, then I'm pricing fairly per hour (Introductory Spanish, for 3 hours, could be around $25 per hour for a total of $75 total for one full day). I will not undervalue my work and time, so I must also take into account my efforts and price them fairly as well.
