About Laura
I was raised by two Spanish speakers so I was fully immersed in the language. I enjoy bringing that immersion into tutoring so students can become experts in Spanish and the Spanish mannerisms.
I love learning and teaching. I like to be creative in my lesson plans so that learning is exciting!
I started as a sports coach and then got into tutoring, and once I got to college I knew I wanted to teach more. I decided to work at a school for students with disabilities, as a part-time tutor, and as a teaching assistant.
I have been a teaching assistant for college-level courses and have been a tutor for 5 years.

I like to get to know the students interests so that I can incorporate them into the lesson plans. I want to get to know the teaching styles they enjoy whether they are a visual learning or prefer lecture style.
I have worked with a variety of ages from elementary to college level. I also have experience working with students with intellectual disabilties.
I would opt for Spanish speakers that also know the culture because it is a big part of learning a language.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should think about their learning styles, what they've liked from teachers, and what they haven't liked.
