About Steven
Aloha!
Aloha! I'm coach Steve and I'm new to Hawaii with 20+ years of teaching experience. USPTA AND USPTR certified.
My approach to teaching is to build a very strong and stable foundation with an emphasis on stroke production, timing and tempo, proper coordination & building dependable techniques. I enjoy the open nature of the sport, where each shot requires creativity and decision making skills to adapt both mentally and physically to unpredictable & ever changing situations.
I have helped dozens of players to play college tennis and helped many gain scholarships to D1 and D2 schools. While I have coached several top ranked juniors and adults, some of my proudest moments are seeing novice players become passionate about the sport as they develop the skills to play on their high school and club teams.
