About Alexandra
Lexie received her BA from Stanford University and has 15 years of performance experience on viola. At Stanford, she studied with the St. Lawrence String Quartet and was principal violist of the Stanford Philharmonia orchestra. She has been selected for festivals in the US and abroad--Banff Festival Orchestra, Burgos International Music Festival, Casalmaggiore International Music Festival, Tanglewood and Interlochen.
At 5 years old, Lexie was a beginning violinist. When she started transposing her pieces to the lower strings of the violin, her teacher recommended that she try the viola. She fell in love. Lexie loves to share her passion with students, particularly young people finding their voice with music. The viola is a special instrument and violists have a unique role in the music world. Lexie is happy to share her insight and experience with chamber music and summer music programs in addition to solo work.
