About Brandy
I have passionately dedicated my life to the creation and
collaboration of the art of theatre in all aspects. Including life in the business as a performing artist. I have had the
fortune to work with some of the greatest writers, directors,
playwrights, designers and actors in the industry. I am thrilled to share all that I have learned and experienced with emerging young artists that will make up the next
generation of theatre artists.
With more than 20 years of experience as a guest teaching
artist and lecturer I strive to instill a passion in my students for
learning and a continued desire to grow as an artist understanding
that it is a life long process and an exciting one at that. I believe it
is important with our changing times to let theatre reflect that and
our responsibility as artists to constantly bring these issues to the
forefront and not be afraid to do so. I encourage students to find
their own unique voice and never shy away from creating new
work and interpretations of characters.
Everything! I love seeing artists make new discoveries and personalize the characters they take on.
I began teaching non major classes at SMU and continued from there as I began my own professional career guest teaching and coaching in New York, theatres I was working at and Universities.

I work with a student based on their immediate need whether it is a coaching for an audition or a school or to learn a new role. I talk to each student differently based on their skill level, personality and sensitivity. Every student has unique and different needs. I adjust to how they feel on any given day as well and listen to what they want to get out of each session.
