The teacher has to have patience. The teacher has to have compassion. Meet the teacher 1st.
One event that I am proud of was a group of students who were not the smartest in school. I started 35 weeks ago 10 hours a week currently. 8 out of the 10 are honor roll. I credit it to coach mentality. I never was down on them always there hero.We made great gains each 9 weeks. They build relationship and confidence in there self. They mastered what learning strategy would work for them.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What every questions they need to ask.Student and Teacher have to have clear understanding. Student should always ask why they do the service. If the reply is because it is a job look twice probably not great fit. The instructor has to live what they are doing
