About Cedric
I am an experienced violinist and teacher with 12 years of violin teaching experience, including teaching children in primary schools since 2020. I have extensive experience working with young learners and understand how to make lessons engaging, encouraging and accessible to children with different personalities and learning styles. I have successfully supported students preparing for ABRSM examinations, with a 100% pass rate among my students who have taken the exams.
I received systematic violin training in China and later studied the European violin teaching system in Canterbury in 2019. During this period, I also performed with a symphony orchestra and participated in the CSSA-UK New Year Gala 2020 at Central Hall Westminster, London.
My teaching goes beyond simply learning notes and techniques. I aim to help students build a genuine interest in music, develop confidence and enjoy the process of learning the violin. Alongside European classical repertoire, I also have experience performing and teaching music from different cultural traditions, giving students the opportunity to explore a wider and more diverse musical world.
I believe every student learns differently, and my goal is to help each student progress at their own pace while developing strong musical foundations and a lasting love of the violin.

One-to-one violin lessons for students aged 5 and above, based in Bournemouth.
Each lesson is tailored to the student’s age, ability and individual learning needs. I place a strong emphasis on building solid musical foundations through scales, etudes, technique and repertoire, while also making lessons enjoyable and engaging.
Every lesson begins with a review of previously learned material, allowing students to reinforce their skills and track their progress. Before starting a new piece, students are encouraged to develop their music reading and sight-singing skills, helping them become more confident and independent musicians rather than simply learning pieces by memory.
My aim is to develop not only a student’s violin technique, but also their musical understanding, confidence and enjoyment of playing.
