About Janet
Learning becomes meaningful when students feel supported throughout their musical journey. During my 9 years of teaching experience, I have helped college students and adult learners build confidence through practical violin lessons that encourage steady progress and enjoyable learning.
Rather than rushing into advanced techniques, I focus on helping students build strong fundamentals first. This approach allows them to improve bow control, rhythm, intonation, tone quality, finger placement, and musical expression with greater confidence.
Every learner has different ambitions, so I prepare lessons that fit individual strengths, goals, and learning styles. Whether preparing for performances or learning for personal enjoyment, I provide guidance, encouragement, and useful feedback every step of the way.

Every violin session is planned to help students feel comfortable while learning the right techniques from the beginning. Lessons include guided demonstrations, practical exercises, and performance activities that improve confidence, coordination, and musical understanding through steady and enjoyable learning.
Students practice posture, bow hold, finger placement, bowing techniques, intonation, shifting, vibrato, rhythm, sight reading, ear training, tone production, music theory, and performance skills. Carefully chosen exercises and musical pieces help students improve technique while developing expressive and confident violin playing.
Students receive detailed feedback, personalized home practice, and regular learning reviews after every lesson. Whether preparing for auditions, examinations, concerts, or learning for personal enjoyment, each class supports technical improvement while making violin learning enjoyable and rewarding.
