About Ivy
I am a dedicated violin tutor with 18 years of teaching experience, having taught around 300 students from beginner to intermediate levels, including high school students, college learners, and adults. My teaching philosophy is based on clear communication, patience, and steady progress, as I believe these are important for successful learning.
I focus on building strong basics such as posture, finger placement, bow control, and sound clarity. I make sure to explain each concept in a simple and understandable way so students can apply it confidently. I also include exercises and songs that keep lessons interesting and engaging.
One of my key achievements is helping students gain confidence and perform comfortably. My goal is to create a supportive and motivating learning environment.

My teaching approach for violin is based on effective communication, flexibility, and real-life application of skills. I adapt my teaching methods to match each student’s individual learning style, ensuring that lessons are easy to understand and enjoyable.
I focus on developing strong fundamentals such as correct posture, bowing techniques, and accurate intonation through guided practice and clear explanations. To make learning more practical, I use real-life examples like playing popular tunes, participating in small performances, and understanding how music connects to everyday experiences.
I also teach related subjects including music theory, rhythm training, ear training, and sight-reading to support overall development. My aim is to create a balanced learning experience where students not only learn techniques but also develop confidence, creativity, and a lifelong interest in music.
