Extremely Erudite, Empathetic and Experienced Tutor (Bonus Points if you Spotted Alliteration!)

Methodology

I have an inclusive, empathetic, and engaging pedagogical style that is not overly didactic, and which makes the learning style of the pupil and the idiosyncratic way they assimilate and contextualise information the fulcrum of the learning process. I would hope that my passion for teaching is self-evident. If not, I would humbly request the opportunity to prove it.

Background

An experienced Academic Writer and Tutor, I possess excellent communication skills, as well as a First Class Honours Degree in English, Creative Writing and History. I have been tutoring for a few years now and specialise in helping secondary age learners achieve their scholastic potential in English Language and Literature, as well as in History. I also have extensive experience in teaching Academic Writing skills to learners of all ages up to undergraduate level. Finally, I have some limited experience teaching English as a Foreign Language.

Any teacher or tutor worth their salt (parenthetically - hence the parentheses - our word salary derives from the Latin salarium, which was the money paid to Roman soldiers which was allocated for the purchase of salt. Apologies, I do that a lot)... any teacher or tutor worth their salt lives for the Aha! moment, that Eureka moment when a pupil catches hold of something and it makes sense for them, and they understand, even if only ephemerally, why you're so passionate about what you're trying to share with them. Partly through altruism, and partly for selfish reasons related to my own integrity and self esteem, I want an opportunity to be a part of helping someone experience that Eureka moment as often as I possibly can.
