About Elena
I am a graduate from Parsons Paris The New School, where I spent 4 years completing my BFA in Fashion Design & Collection Development. I work as a menswear design at Aimé Leon Dore, and have a professional eye with portfolio preparation for the workforce or for competitive fashion schools. Tutoring is a passion of mine -- I love to make projects possible at all levels.

I offer tutoring in portfolio design and sewing for students of all levels. I am based in NYC and am happy to work with you in person or online.
Portfolio Design:
Together we will dive into your artistic universe, to help your voice and creativity stand out in a competitive market.
Story-telling is everything in fashion, so my lessons focus on creative research and presentation. Your portfolio is your voice, a look into your world, so we will present the strongest and most polished version of it.
Sewing Lessons:
Each lesson is based on a creative project that we will work on together. I have a library of garment blocks from Parsons if you are interested in making clothing. Together we will go through the basics of pattern making, choosing and cutting fabric, and construction with different seams and sewing techniques. You will also learn to understand your machine (tension, basic maintenance, threading the bobbin) and what materials to buy to have an at-home studio equipped for any project.
