About Maya
As we prepare to enter the field of architecture, we are not only being evaluated by the work that we do, but also by HOW we show up in architectural spaces. I seek to set a good example for my students by being engaged in creative discussions while considering the realistic approaches necessary in architecture.
When working with creative minds, I believe we all have something to learn from each other. But it may be beneficial to find support from someone who already completed their Architecture degree.
On a personal level, I really enjoy working with Rhino 3D, as well as digital or physical collage. I am interested in biomimicry and Organic architecture. I can help you with AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Suite as well. If I didn't mention what you need help with, please reach out and I can see if it's within my knowledge.
In addition to a Bachelor's degree in Architecture, I also have a Sustainability minor.

My knowledge will benefit Undergraduate, Community College, and High School students taking drafting, architecture, or other adjacent design classes.
Having adopted a library of visual language to work with during my architectural education, I can help make sure your images are communicating what you intend them to. I experienced and overcame many roadblocks in my Architecture education and would love to collaborate with students to ensure they can do the same. Let's work to build your confidence and conviction in your own design work.
One of the first questions you can anticipate me asking is how you best learn. Based on the needs you come to me with, we can help build a lesson and practice plan that looks good for you. If I am helping you study for an exam or learn a drafting or modeling software, you can anticipate a straightforward lesson plan.
However, design classes hardly ever feel so simple. My inclination is to meet with students and discuss what they may be struggling with, and decide which tools to use from there. This may look like a mock critique session, a conversation about managing overwhelm, a brainstorm session, or something new entirely.

Perfect! I didn't get to meet her, but I can say that she went out of her way to make herself available to my daughter for tutoring, and was willing to travel a long way to make it work in person. Much appreciated.
Perfect! This is my first time ever having a tutor and Maya has been a HUGE help. Im doing my bachelors online and some time the instructions that the professors give are not clear.
