About Le

I am a Fine Art graduate from the Glasgow School of Art and a practising contemporary artist, currently based in the UK. My work has been exhibited in galleries across London, Glasgow, and internationally, and I have been shortlisted for several art prizes. Alongside my practice, I have a strong passion for teaching and sharing my knowledge of drawing and painting.

I have experience working as an art teacher with children and young learners, where I design engaging lessons that balance structure and creativity. I enjoy helping students build confidence in their abilities while developing solid technical skills. Whether it’s a complete beginner picking up a pencil for the first time or a student preparing for GCSE Art, I adapt my approach to suit each individual.

My background combines academic training, exhibition experience, and hands-on teaching, which allows me to support students not only in improving their skills but also in understanding how to think like an artist. I’m patient, encouraging, and attentive to each student’s needs, and I aim to create a relaxed and supportive learning environment.

I believe that anyone can learn to draw and paint with the right guidance, and I’m always excited to help students discover their creativity and develop their own artistic voice.

My teaching approach is centred on developing both technical skills and individual creativity. I believe that strong foundations in drawing and observation are essential, but equally important is helping students find their own visual language and confidence in making art.

In my lessons, I combine academic drawing methods (such as proportion, structure, light and shadow, and composition) with more open-ended creative exploration. Depending on the student’s level and goals, lessons may include:

Observational drawing (still life, figure, objects)
Painting techniques (colour mixing, brushwork, layering)
Composition and visual storytelling
Portfolio development for GCSE or personal projects

I adapt each lesson to the student. For beginners, I focus on building confidence and core skills step by step. For more advanced students, I provide structured guidance, critical feedback, and support in developing a personal style or preparing a strong portfolio.

A typical lesson lasts 60 to 90 minutes, allowing enough time for demonstration, practice, and feedback. I usually begin with a short introduction or demonstration, followed by guided practice and individual support.

I have experience teaching both children and young learners, helping them stay engaged through interactive and varied exercises. I also support students preparing for GCSE-level art, as well as adults who want to improve their skills or return to art.

As a Fine Art graduate and practising artist, I bring both academic training and real-world artistic experience into my teaching. I have exhibited my work in the UK and internationally, and I aim to share not only techniques but also insight into contemporary art practice.

My lessons are suitable for:

Children and teenagers
Beginners to intermediate learners
GCSE Art students
Adults interested in drawing and painting

Above all, I aim to create a supportive and inspiring environment where students feel comfortable to experiment, improve, and enjoy the process of making art.
