Background

- What kind of experience do you have?

I have 11 years experience as a curriculum coordinator for Art and Design in a Further Education college where I specialised in photography. I am proud to say for many years my students were awarded the best results in the country for A level photography and many of them have gone on to study the subject at University or go into the industry themselves. I come from the industry myself having spent many years running a successful London photography gallery and running my own photography business.

Having worked as a photography lecturer for 11 years I have a up to date CRB certificate.

2002 - 2003 Goldsmiths University London, UK - MA, Image and Communication, Photography (Pass).
2001 - 2002 Richmond College London, UK - Advanced City and Guilds, Photography (P/T).
1999 - 2000 London College of Printing London, UK - Training to be a Studio Assistant (P/T).
1995 - 1998 Anglia University Cambridge, UK - BA (Hon), Graphic Arts, Photography (2:1).
1993 - 1995 Richmond College London, UK - BTEC GNVQ, Art and Design, Photography (First with merit).

- Do you belong to any professional organisations?

No

- Tell me about some of your current students.

At the moment I am teaching A level photography to a student in preparation for her University application. She is really enjoying the subject area covering all the different genres of photography from traditional creative darkroom techniques to digital manipulation. I can see her really progressing and creating some great work, the joy of teaching one to one is that I can truly taylor the course to her specific interests which means in a way she is working harder and to her full ability and potential while enjoying what she is doing. I love capturing students' imagination, nurturing, encouraging and inspiring them, we all learn from each other through the journey and process I think that is what makes me a good teacher and why I love what I do.
