About Sorcha
Hi I’m Sorcha,
I am 23 years old and I am very passionate about using the arts and literature to make learning fun, accessible and to build academic confidence. I had a tough time in Secondary school and I didn’t actually start to enjoy education until my GCSES. I met a teacher who really believed in making a difference and he changed my whole perspective. I would love to give another young person that love for a subject too. Education is vital and it took me a long time to understand that, as they say knowledge is power!

I am an outgoing and passionate individual, due to my drama background no lesson with me is boring, I believe learning should be fun and that most children/teenagers need to be engaged in a subject to really understand it. Whilst at university I taught Drama for a SEND charity close to my home, the age ranged from 8-45. I am an avid playwright and I wrote my dissertation in April of this year. I attained a First Class, therefore my English and writing standard is quite high. Lessons can vary from 30 minutes to an hour, whatever suits you. Now I have graduated I am a Teaching Assistant for an outstanding Secondary school, whilst I attain QTS. However, I do teach Literacy 1:1 as I have impressed with my teaching abilities within my first few weeks of working there. I can teach entry level English up to Key stage 3.
