About Izzy
Hello, my name is Izzy and I'm an experienced English tutor and First Class English graduate.
For the last 3+ years, I have tutored 11+, KS3, GCSE, and A-Level students, helping them achieve and exceed their predicted grades and improve their confidence with reading and writing.
I have previously tutored GCSE students to improve by 3 grades (from a 6 to a 9 with full marks) in less than 5 months of lessons, and guided A-Level students towards a love of the subject that has led to their further pursuit at degree level.
I prioritise creating a friendly lesson environment in which students feel encouraged to communicate their needs and able to voice their struggles so I can personalise each lesson.

With 3+ years of tutoring experience, I have a friendly and creative approach to teaching English that centres the student's needs and goals. I like to focus on how exam materials can inform wider learning around analytical and creative writing and often engage students in discussions around activities to help develop spoken English and communication skills.
My lessons are typically 1 hour long (with flexibility) and are for 11+, KS3, GCSE, and A-Level students.
I have a First Class degree in English Literature from Durham University and an A-Level in English Language (A*) and English Literature (A*) as well as A* grade GCSEs in both subjects.
