My teaching method is based on both demonstration and facilitating discussion with practice.
When approaching a text, I will provide a thorough background in its context with attention to the time it was written and its the culture, as well as the author. I will identify key points in the text and bring them into an extensive discussion with the student to train you to ask questions and analyse the text in detail. Towards exams, I will provide essay questions and go over optimal techniques that work for you and provide detailed feedback for you to learn from.
I am a Masters student at the University of Cambridge studying Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic Studies. I have a First class degree in English from the University of Nottingham, specialising in sociolinguistic, 20th century literature and medieval literature and languages. I also have a TEFL degree from The TEFL Academy.
I have been providing academic support to English students for 4 years. I have worked across different age groups and exam boards from helping GCSE students prepare for exams, to working with A-Level and IB students across to proof-reading university essays. All my previous students have passed their exams with flying colours and jumped across grades, advancing from Ds and Cs to Bs and As.
