About Alexander
I am a medical student at the University of Oxford. I achieved A*A*A* in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology A-level. I graduated my pre-clinical phase with a high First Class in Medical Sciences, building on my consistent excellence in achieving Merits in examinations every year. I was awarded the College William Buckland prize for academic excellence 4 times, alongside my Exhibition Scholarships, and the College prize for academic excellence in Medical Sciences (A. Hopley Memorial Prize) in my final year. I am a multiple-time published author in the 2nd most cited Journal in Physiology, have just finished a book chapter for an upcoming textbook 'Cardiomyocyte', and I continue to actively research alongside my medical studies. Thus, in terms of scientific knowledge - I am one of the most advanced tutors you will find outside of direct University teaching.
My experience in teaching stretches far back. I have been teaching for over 6 years now across all common exams boards. I have tutored around 50 students, with much pro bono work. I have taught students in a range of conditions, from one-to-one, through to small classes. I have tutored from GCSE up through to Undergraduate level. My best pupils, from a mixture of state, private, and public schools have gone on to places at Oxbridge and the top London Universities, to read a range of subjects from Medicine, through to Engineering. I founded and run an access scheme mentoring and tutoring students from my old state school for entering Medicine at Oxbridge, and out of 2 years running it, we have had increasing numbers of students now attending Oxbridge for medicine where it was rare before. Thus, my experience is well-grounded and builds on the many students who have found success with me in the past.
Having sat my exams in the past decade, I know exactly what format the examiners are after, and combine the knowledge of those typically much older, with a finger on the pulse of how to excel in these exams.

My teaching method assumes that each individual is truly capable of understanding whatever is presented to them, if it's presented in the right way.
I work from first principles derivations, utilizing simple and clear logical successions to help my students not just rote learn for exams, but get a real grasp of why the answer makes sense. Additionally, this ensures an excellent platform for exemplary exam technique, as they are never stuck trying to remember an answer - but instead can work it out for themselves.

I am a third year Medicine student, currently studying for my undergraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences. For the past two years, Alex has been my first port-of-call whenever I feel overwhelmed. He has mentored me in all aspects of my undergraduate experience, ranging from helping me tackle difficult theoretical concepts, to providing much needed insight into the statistics for my research project and equally as importantly, supporting me whenever I felt the pressure was too much.
Alex is a natural teacher. He has readily offered his help on a number of issues throughout the course of my degree. He is able to easily and clearly explain complex ideas across an enormous range of topics in degree level medical sciences. In particular, he is of great help in understanding and using scientific literature in an empirical manner and his assistance in writing and presenting data in an appropriate scientific manner is invaluable. I could not rate him highly enough as a tutor.

If I consider the student is performing exceptionally, then I will consider lowering the rate post-hoc by form of a partial refund. My cancellation policy is that I like to give flexibility to our sessions, so I do not charge a cancellation fee etc. I merely ask that we're flexible in reorganising.
