About Emma
I’m a Chemistry PhD researcher specialising in laboratory automation, and an Oxford Chemistry graduate with first-class honours. I’ve always loved exploring how science connects ideas together — from atomic structure to the complex systems we build in research. Over the past few years, I’ve guided many students through their Oxford Chemistry interview preparation, helping them to approach unfamiliar problems with curiosity and confidence. My goal is to make every student feel capable of thinking deeply and creatively, not just memorising answers. I’m friendly, patient, and genuinely passionate about helping students reach their potential. My lessons are designed to help students think like scientists — to analyse, question, and explain their reasoning clearly under pressure. I focus on building confidence and curiosity rather than rote memorisation. Each session includes discussion-based problem solving, mock interview questions, and feedback on how to structure answers and think aloud effectively. Lessons are typically 60–90 minutes and take place online. They’re suitable for students applying to study Chemistry at Oxford, particularly those preparing for interviews or wanting to strengthen their problem-solving and conceptual understanding in Chemistry, Physics, and Maths. I’m a Chemistry graduate from the University of Oxford, now completing a PhD in Chemistry Automation. Over the past three years, I’ve delivered over 100 hours of Oxbridge interview mentoring, helping students develop the clarity and independence of thought that top universities look for.
