About Colleen
I am a Primary school teacher, who teaches in a Gaelscoil. I love to teach and help children to become the best version of themselves. Irish is a tricky subject for many, with many children finding it difficult and boring, and with that developing a negative outlook towards the subject. I am here to help children reframe that mindset and develop a positive outlook for the Irish language. When taught in a fun, positive and encouraging environment I believe every child can become fluent in Irish no matter their ability, and I believe every child deserves that opportunity.

I have experience teaching children from ages 4-18 in various settings, naíonra, gaelscoileanna, and gaeltacht colleges. All lessons would be adapted to suit the needs of each individual child and the methods that suit their learning best. For primary school students I would adapt a visual learning technique using games, pictures and picture books. For older children, while still keeping a fun learning environment, I would use more oral language games, while teaching vital sentence structures and grammar. All lessons can be adapted to child's needs, age, and curriculum requirements, whether it is more oral language focused or curriculum and exam focused.
