About Sydney

My name is Sydney, and I love helping students feel confident and capable in all aspects of French, from conversation to comprehension and writing.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in French Studies from the University of Guelph as well as a degree from the University of Ottawa in Didactique des langues secondes (Second Language Teaching), specializing in teaching French as a second language. My studies gave me both a deep understanding of the language and the tools to teach it effectively.
I’ve been speaking French since the age of 5, but my love for languages truly grew after participating in a student exchange in France in grade 8. Experiencing the language and culture firsthand showed me how powerful language learning can be.
I have experience working as a teacher and tutor, both in classroom settings and through online tutoring. These experiences have taught me how to adapt lessons to each student’s goals, pace, and learning style, whether you're looking to improve conversation skills, succeed in school, or simply build confidence in French.
