About Robert
With over 40 years of Classical Guitar teaching behind me, I bring energy, expertise and a lifelong passion for this beautiful instrument.
I began teaching adults and young learners back in 1986, alongside my career as a Primary School Teacher, and I’ve continued to teach students throughout a rich professional life that has included two Headships in Sheffield, work as an Educational Consultant/Adviser, and as a specialist role in Digital Skills for Employment.
I’m experienced in preparing students for graded exams with all major boards, and I love helping learners achieve milestones they once thought were out of reach.
Teaching and playing Classical Guitar has always been a constant thread running through my life. Sharing this craft with students of all ages is a genuine joy — immersing yourself in Classical Guitar music is one of the most rewarding ways to spend your time.
Helping people of any age discover, develop and flourish in this wonderful skill is a privilege I never take for granted.

Every student receives a carefully tailored scheme of work, whether they’re learning for pleasure or aiming for recognised exam submissions from Grade 1 to Grade 8.
Lessons can vary from 30 minutes to an hour.
I make full use of modern technology to support learning — for example, after each lesson I send a personalised email summarising key points to guide your practice during the week.
I’ve played Classical Guitar since the age of 8, progressing through all the grades to Grade 8 and beyond and winning an international award for my playing.
I have a wide range of learners from age 7 to 76!
