About Malcolm
I started singing as a chorister at the age of 7 and I've never stopped singing since. Even so, it took me a while to find my authentic voice and I spent many years going to singing teachers who I thought could help me get a more 'pop' sounding voice. At that time in the music industry, it was the "industry sound" if you wanted to become a signed recording artist. After a while, I began to really understand who I was as a vocalist and the kind of sound I wanted to make, which took me on a journey of many years learning how to be comfortable in my own skin, not just as a singer, but also as a complete performer. I've since built a career that has allowed me to tour all over the UK and Europe with various bands and shows, sometimes as lead vocalist and at other times doing backing vocals. Appearing on shows like Top Of The Pops as a session vocalist with artists like The Tony Rich Project and Wyclef Jean of the Fugees and more recently in musicals like The UK tour of The Colour Purple. As a vocalist and songwriter I've also had the privilege of working with Grammy Award-winning writers such as Graham Lyle and Terry Britten, who also wrote for Tina Turner and Michael Jackson and Ray Saint John who wrote Smooth Operator for Sadé and I co-wrote the song 'Falling' for Tina Turner which appeared on her multi-platinum selling album Twenty Four Seven. I'm always interested in working with new artists for a variety of reasons. The most important reason is to help you grow and develop as a singer and the other secondary reason, is that the industry will always open its doors for talented emerging artists of any age who have successfully developed their sound. I've been involved in music for several years, so I have a good sense of what works, my mentorship has seen the emergence of bands such as JLS and producers such as Sigala and I'd be more than happy to share some of that experience with you.

For many years, I struggled to find my authentic voice and to be able to overcome performance anxiety so that I could be natural and free on stage. If this is you, then you will definitely benefit from my speech level, Alexander Technique-based approach to effortless singing. Great singing is more than just practising scales, riffs and runs. It's also about tonality, presence and emotional connection. A typical session is 1 hour and I'm happy to work with all levels from beginners to professionals. I would be delighted to give you the benefit of my 30 years of singing experience where I've performed at the highest levels of the UK music industry as both a lead and session vocalist. Get in touch. Let's move your singing and performance to a whole new level.

Malcolm has been a very special teacher for me. Having had a challenging but exciting stint in the industry I was skeptical about taking up singing again. Malcolm’s approach- lovingly firm and passionately encouraging-was exactly the motivation I needed to find my voice again and enjoy learning more in depth about the craft. I think he’ll be my teacher for life!
Malcolm is such a great person and coach for my 14 years old son! He managed to keep him engaged. His lesson helped him to improve as a singer and gain confidence… Malcolm manages to teach technique with warmth and is super encouraging and committed. I cannot recommend Malcolm enough !
Although I have not been a singing student of his, I have had the pleasure of knowing Malcolm professionally, for many years. He is a person of upstanding values, respected for his hard work, creativity, and dedication. His ability to mentor and guide others is truly commendable, and I have no doubt that his students will benefit greatly from his expertise and supportive approach.
Malcom has taught me for a couple of years and has honestly been the most supportive and encouraging vocal tutor I’ve had had. He’s advanced my knowledge of music in general. He’s pushed me to reach my full potential. He examined my strengths and weakness and through that, tailored our sessions so that I’m I’m advancing in the areas I need work in. My vocal range has expanded immensely and I now know that I can do anything vocally. He’s more than just a vocal coach. Highly recommend
I highly recommend Malcolm as a vocal coach. He has been instrumental in making me aware of my bad habits and how to unlearn them. Most important, he has been patient and kind.
Malcolm has a tremendous wealth of experience working as both a Professional Singer and Actor.
He is also kind, nurturing and would make an excellent Tutor or Mentor.
Be quick though as this dude is always in demand. My experience with Malcolm Connoll has been of the utmost excellence and professional training. He gave me the practical tools to harness my natural gift and take it into the performing arena but most importantly to dynamically use all of his lessons within all areas of my life. Malcolm has a way of drawing out what is unique about you and allowing that to shine and be the focal point of where your Journey begins. Malcolm is a wonderful teacher, human being and friend I would call anyone who gets to be under his tutelage a very inspired and lucky individual. Delé Williams
