My name is Fraser Kelman. I am a professional oboist and teacher based in Edinburgh. I maintain a busy teaching practice alongside a performing schedule with many of the country's leading orchestras.

I hold a BMus degree from the Royal Academy of Music as well as it's LRAM teaching diploma. My postgraduate studies were at the Royal College of Music where I obtained a PGDip in advanced performance.
- How much do you charge?
I charge £30 for an hour long lesson or £15 for half an hour. This is based on teaching from my home. I usually charge a further £5 to teach from a student's home, but this is subject to circumstances.
- Where do you teach?
I usually teach from my home in the Slateford area of Edinburgh.
- When are you available?
Monday - Friday: 10am - 9pm
Saturday / Sunday: 10am - 6pm
I am usually available throughout school holidays.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I am happy teaching all ages. For Oboe and Cor Anglais I work with beginners through to professional level. For piano I work with beginners through to Grade 8 standard.
- What kind of experience do you have?
I currently teach oboe at George Watson's College and work at St Mary's Music School coaching chamber music, directing the wind ensemble, leading classes on performance skills, teaching reed making and as the deputy oboe teacher. I have a wide range of teaching experience and have worked with students ranging from complete beginners, through to music college applicants and experienced adults. Regardless of a student's background or stage of development I aim to give lessons that are both challenging and enjoyable.
As a performer I have worked with many of the UK's major orchestras including the Philharmonia, English Chamber Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Royal Northern Sinfonia, Royal Scottish National Orchestra and Scottish Chamber Orchestra as well as the orchestras of Welsh National Opera and Scottish Ballet.

I have DBS (England) and PVG (Scotland) certification.
