About Samira
I am a final year student studying French and German at the University of Oxford.
Having tutored over 150 lessons across online tutoring platforms as well as working as a language assistant at a school in France for a year, I can definitely say that tutoring is something that I have really come to love!

My lessons are centred around each individual’s needs and focus on areas they want to strengthen or consolidate. When approaching a new topic, I always find it crucial to explain the theory to begin with. This is to ensure the fundamental concept is understood before moving onto doing some example questions together, allowing the theoretical information to be applied successfully. I also encourage the tutee to complete some example questions without my guidance at the end of the lesson, so that they become more confident in their ability to apply their knowledge and allows for any misunderstandings to be targeted and explained immediately.
I believe that ensuring the foundations are understood is crucial in order to be able to progress and work towards more complex topics. Understanding the theory behind a concept and consequently applying it to practice questions is the method I have found to be most successful and is the method I have used since my G.C.S.E. exams and is still the one I use in my degree to this day.
